Google Play Games is now available for Android: Unlock achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves

Along with being able to play Android games on a PC, Google Play Games also lets players sync their progress across devices when signing into their Google account. Google Play Points can also be used across different devices.

Google Play Games has arrived on PC in more countries, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore. The app, which is available in beta, allows you to play a selection of Android games on your PC with a mouse and keyboard. Google started testing the app in Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan in January (and later in Australia and Thailand) after promising at the tail end of last year that Google Play Games would come to PC in 2022.

What this means is that people in the aforementioned regions can head over to the dedicated webpage here in order to download a piece of software that will allow them to play up to 85 Android games directly on their Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC. Since the solution is powered by Google Play, you can easily sync your progress across different devices.

Our broader goal continues to be meeting players where they are and giving them access to their games on as many devices as possible. Players participating in the beta have expressed excitement at being able to seamlessly play their favorite games across their phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and PCs. Additionally, since launching earlier this year we have made significant strides to reach even more players by reducing the minimum spec requirements to PCs running Windows 10+ with an integrated graphics card and 4+ core CPU.

Microsoft has an Android Subsystem for Windows that allows people to use thousands of Android apps on PCs. Notably, Microsoft worked alongside Amazon to bring the Amazon Appstore to Windows.

Call of Duty: Mobile is one of the newer games on this list. We usually wait a bit to see how a game plays out, but this one is so popular and so good that we had to add it immediately. The game includes classic online FPS PvP like any Call of Duty. However, it also includes a 100-player battle royale mode similar to PUBG Mobile and Fortnite. That puts it in a rare category of a good regular FPS game like Critical Ops as well as a good battle royale like PUBG Mobile.

EA has the market cornered on sports games. They are the only developer with yearly launches for most sports, including their Madden NFL Overdrive game, FIFA Soccer, NBA Live Mobile, EA Sports UFC, and others. These games all have very similar elements. You can play the actual sport and there is a sim mechanic in all of these games. The graphics are usually pretty decent and the controls are generally good. However, EA sports games have heavy free-to-play elements. That is a frequent frustration for many players and it makes it difficult to recommend EA in general. 2ff7e9595c
